I installed freeNX on ubuntu 9.10 successfully, and installed NX Client in my Windows 7 PC. Installation was very smooth, and I can also access my Ubuntu system very easily, there was no problem at all.

I have an application running on Ubuntu, I want to get the prints on to my windows PC. I have followed instructions given in different posts given in the net, but nothing gave a good solution.

If anybody can help me in this, it will be of great healp.

Weird, but on my system (Ubuntu 10.04 with the wired Apple Alu keyboard) the fn key doesn’t even work. Doesn’t do anything. Xev remains silent if I press the fn-key….. Any ideas?

From memory I’ve only ever run this once after this I could add users at will without having to modify the installation further.

Doh! Exactly. I’m so used to making that change I don’t see the “exit 0″ anymore. I’ve update the tutorial to make it a bit clearer. Many thanks

For the benefit of fellow Linux learners. The command “echo 2 > /sys/module/hid_apple/parameters/fnmode” must go before “exit 0″

Works in Ubuntu/Mint 10.10 too.

That was awesomely easy! Thanks a lot!

I have a HTC Hero which I’ve used for a long time as a 3g modem now, but it recently stopped working, for some reason.

So I’m glad I can keep doing the same with my old phone (nokia 5800), though it seems like the speed is pretty slow: around 0.3 mbit vs. the 2 mbit I had when I used my Hero (and which I’m paying for).. Does anyone else have this problem?
